Recruitment Prep Framework
Success in formal recruitment relies on intentional narrative design and a masterful command of the mutual selection process. Potential New Members (PNMs) who stand out are those who treat every conversation as a structured, executive-level interview while maintaining effortless, authentic charm. To maximize your advantage, review our strategic overview of the recruitment cycle below—engineered to align your preparation this summer for a flawless execution this coming fall or winter.
The Portfolio & Resumes: Pre-Recruitment
Craft an elite social resume, secure high-impact letters of recommendation (RIFs), and manage digital footprints. Chapters regularly screen social media feeds before a PNM ever walks through the door; their digital presence must match their personal brand. Carefully curate a social media presence you would want your grandparents or future employer to see - remove ANYTHING questionable (no smoking, drinking, or risque photos).
Open House & Philanthropy: Rounds 1 & 2
Master the "Elevator Pitch." In loud, high-energy rooms, a PNM has less than 2 minutes to establish a memorable, positive connection. We train candidates in body language, vocal projection, and discussing their values and philanthropic passions without sounding scripted.
Sisterhood & Personality: Round 3
You will need to shift from surface-level introductions to deeper, values-based storytelling. This round requires advanced communication structures to answer high-stakes questions about character, ambition, and community alignment. Make meaningful and critical connections with members.
Preference Night: The Final Round
The pinnacle of recruitment. Conversations are intimate, emotional, and serious. We coach PNMs on the etiquette of "Pref Night"—how to match the tone of the room, articulate exactly what they bring to the sisterhood, and make a definitive, lasting impression before bid lists are finalized.
